This is for silly things and whatever I want. Enjoy!

Yeast-based pokéballs!

The work of Professor S.C. Shmoo has resulted in these fission yeast (left) and budding yeast (right) based pokéballs. I've heard they can capture two related pokémon simultaneously!

Two classic pokéballs of the same size connected at the middle like a fission yeast dividing One larger pokéball with a smaller one protruding from the top

Tapestry crochet

Playing around with tapestry crochet!

Buneary in-progress!

Charlie is helping.

Mostly complete crocheted buneary, with no face or feet yet and the feet and ears pinned on. Charlie, the tabby cat, is resting his head next to the incomplete pokémon

Little guys!

I wonder who these little guys could be?

Two off-white crocheted little guys with orbs for heads, bodies with little cone shaped legs. They have pins for eyes and are laying on the back of a tabby cat

Valentines in progress!

Some paper Valentines and a mysterious little Valentine pokémon!

A heart shaped paper Valentine card with a black glitter border, hot pink mushroom patterened heart, and a shark cut out of the same black glitter cardstock A heart shaped paper Valentine card with a shiny off white border and a deep purple heart at the center. There's a cutout of a hand-drawn little computer robot - the character SCOUT from the game Murder by Numbers The back of the paper valentine with SCOUT on it, completely pearly white with a nonogram puzzle on it framed in a medium purple border Partially finished shiny sneasel sits in front of an out-of-focus sleepy tabby cat. The unfinished sneasel has many strings from unattached pieces that are pinned to the body and the wire is sticking out through the footless legs. She has yellow pins standing in for her eyes

Oops! All Grass-Types

Part of a complete breakfast! (Do not eat the pokémon)

A custom Oops! All Berries cereal box has art with Grass-type pokémon and reads 'Oops! All Grass-Types.' Lurantis stands next to the box, and there's a glass bowl in front of it full of plastic pokéballs and the following crocheted pokémon: Smoliv, rowlet, eldegoss, cherubi, bounsweet, and swadloon. A spoon sits in front of the bowl with a crocheted seedot sitting in it A certificate styled like a cereal box prize with an image of cartoon lurantis peaking over text that says 'Congratulations! You've won!' and below it reads 'you've won a FREE exclusive figurine of cap'n lurantis!' Front of the custom box art. Lurantis has replaced Cap'n Crunch. Pokéballs, great balls, ultra balls, and friend balls have replaced the crunchberries. Oddish, cherubi, and budew are sprinkled in with the pokéballs
The skinny side of the box. Instead of cereal boxes and advertising other cereal flavors, the side advertises pokémon games as mini cereal boxes. The boxes feature: Ho-Oh for Pokémon Heartgold, Arceus for pokémon legends Arceus, Koraidon for pokémon scarlet, and Moraidon for pokémon violet. The top encourages you to visit betterluann.neocities.org The other side of the box. A fake nutrition facts label lists out the percentage of each dual grass type and the percentage of how many of those are cute (instead of per serving). The back of the box, which features a word search for different grass type pokémon. Various grass-type pokémon (including those whose names appear in the word search) surround the word search. Lurantis is at the top with the instructions: Gotta name 'em all! Help Cap'n Lurantis find the names of some of her grass-type pokémon friends! A picture with a bowl of pokéballs made from clear plastic orbs stuffed with colorful tissue paper and with decorations on the outside

I heard that there are some *bad* words that accidentally ended up the word search...

Bounsweet in progress!

He looked so silly when his leaves were still growing in :)

Unfinished crochet bounsweet with yellow pins for eyes and no leaves. He just has the stem and it looks silly Unfinished crochet bounsweet with yellow pins for eyes and just the stem and the two smaller leaves in the front and back

Pokémon Type Cuteness Distribution Study

Purpose: I was curious as to which Pokémon type had the most cute pokémon, and which had the highest percentage of un-cute ("bad") Pokémon. I also wanted to know how much variability there is between the types.

Methods: For each type listed, I scored each row of the table of pokémon provided by type on bulbapedia. Rows are defined by Pokéx number, with the exception of regional variants. For Pokémon with multiple images under the same number, all images were considered in the scoring process. Pokémon were classified as "cute" if the image sparks sufficient joy and feelings of "oh it's so cute, I must have it!" Pokémon were classified as "fine" if they elicited no strong emotion. Pokémon were classified as "bad" if they were unpleasant to look at or think about. Dual types were counted for both relevant categories (such that the sum of all type scores is larger than the sum of all Pokémon evaluated). Pokémon were sorted only by current type classifications, not by original classifications.

Results: Over all Pokémon type categories, the average percent of Bad, Fine, and Cute Pokémon is 8.27 +/- 3.74%, 58.40 +/- 11.63%, and 33.33 +/- 11.11% respectively. Fighting type had the highest percentage Bad Pokémon (16.47%), Steel type had the highest percentage Fine Pokémon (78.21%), and Ghost type had the highest percentage Cute Pokémon (55.41%) (Figure 1). Weighting scores such that Bad = 1, Fine = 2, and Cute = 3 also ranks Ghost types as the overall highest scoring and Fighting type as the overall lowest scoring. Full data available upon request.
