This is for silly things and whatever I want. Enjoy!
The work of Professor S.C. Shmoo has resulted in these fission yeast (left) and budding yeast (right) based pokéballs. I've heard they can capture two related pokémon simultaneously!
Playing around with tapestry crochet!
Charlie is helping.
I wonder who these little guys could be?
Some paper Valentines and a mysterious little Valentine pokémon!
Part of a complete breakfast! (Do not eat the pokémon)
I heard that there are some *bad* words that accidentally ended up the word search...
He looked so silly when his leaves were still growing in :)
Purpose: I was curious as to which Pokémon type had the most cute pokémon, and which had the highest percentage of un-cute ("bad") Pokémon. I also wanted to know how much variability there is between the types.
Methods: For each type listed, I scored each row of the table of pokémon provided by type on bulbapedia. Rows are defined by Pokéx number, with the exception of regional variants. For Pokémon with multiple images under the same number, all images were considered in the scoring process. Pokémon were classified as "cute" if the image sparks sufficient joy and feelings of "oh it's so cute, I must have it!" Pokémon were classified as "fine" if they elicited no strong emotion. Pokémon were classified as "bad" if they were unpleasant to look at or think about. Dual types were counted for both relevant categories (such that the sum of all type scores is larger than the sum of all Pokémon evaluated). Pokémon were sorted only by current type classifications, not by original classifications.
Results: Over all Pokémon type categories, the average percent of Bad, Fine, and Cute Pokémon is 8.27 +/- 3.74%, 58.40 +/- 11.63%, and 33.33 +/- 11.11% respectively. Fighting type had the highest percentage Bad Pokémon (16.47%), Steel type had the highest percentage Fine Pokémon (78.21%), and Ghost type had the highest percentage Cute Pokémon (55.41%) (Figure 1). Weighting scores such that Bad = 1, Fine = 2, and Cute = 3 also ranks Ghost types as the overall highest scoring and Fighting type as the overall lowest scoring. Full data available upon request.
